BROOKLYN — Police are investigating two shootings that happened hours apart in Crown Heights on Tuesday, one of which sent a 56-year-old woman to the hospital, according to authorities.

The first shooting happened at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Eastern Parkway around 3:40 p.m., police said.

Witnesses told police a man fired two rounds on the busy corner, then fled on foot. No one was injured during the shooting, officials said.

The second shooting took place just four hours later outside of a Nostrand Avenue nail salon, police said.

A 56-year-old woman was walking south on the avenue just after 7 p.m. near Crown Street, she told police, when she heard gunshots and felt pain in her right back side.

Emergency responders took her to Kings County Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, according to officials. As of Wednesday morning, the woman was in stable condition.

Police said the woman was not the intended target in the shooting.

There is no indication the two incidents are related, police said, but the investigation is ongoing.

No suspects have been identified in either incident and no arrests have been made, the NYPD said.
