PLEASANT PLAINS — A woman robbed a flower shop at knifepoint twice in the same week, the last time using a note that said "Sorry, I need money," officials said.

Nicole Matarese, 45, of Prince's Bay, Staten Island, was arrested Saturday after she allegedly robbed the T and N Country Gardens flower shop, at 341 Sharrott Ave., the NYPD said.

She first walked into the store at noon Wednesday and handed the worker a note which read, "I have knife. Money please." She took $360 in cash from the shop, prosecutors said.

Matarese returned to the shop on Saturday at 4 p.m., displayed a knife and handed the worker a note which read "Sorry, I need the money," prosecutors said. Matarese took $750 in cash from the shop during the last robbery, prosecutors said.

She was arrested a few hours later near her Hank Place home and charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the Staten Island District Attorney's office.

Her bail was set at $5,000 and she's due back in court on May 20, according to online court records.

Matarese's lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
