BAY TERRACE — A woman was found dead with her throat slit inside her home Saturday morning, police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call of an assault at about 10:27 a.m. and found Iwona Pawliszyn, 43, inside her Buffalo Street, Staten Island, home, the NYPD said.

EMS responded to the scene and pronounced Pawliszyn dead, police said.

The New York Daily News reported that investigators believe Pawliszyn's ex-husband killed her before he shot himself in the head upstate.

The man was found dead with a single gunshot wound to his head at his mother's home in Poughkeepsie before dawn on Saturday, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.

His vehicle was impounded and the NYPD plans to transport it back to the city, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.
