CORONA — Artists with an eye towards public participation are encouraged to apply to a residency through the Queens Museum, which will provide them space and funds to work on their projects.

Studio in the Park, now in its third year, will give the selected artist a 150-square-foot studio inside Flushing Meadows-Corona Park to work on a piece for four to six weeks.

It's a collaboration between the Parks Department and ArtBuilt and is meant to bring art out into the public.

Applications are due May 25 and is open to New York City residents working in a multitude of mediums — including painting, sculpture, photography, public art, socially-engaged art and more.

Pieces that address the park's history, it's environment as well as its location at the crossroads of many diverse neighborhoods are encouraged, according to the Queens Museum.

The selected artist will receive $1,500 towards the project, support from the museum staff and access to the studio at specific times. They have to commit 20 hours a week to their work.

The winner will be announced June 8, and the program will run through the summer.

To apply, visit the Queens Museum's website.
