Driver Fatally Shot, Flips Car in Canarsie, NYPD Says

BROOKLYN — A driver was killed when he was heading through Canarsie and two men opened fire on him and he crashed Thursday night, police said.

The man, whose name wasn't immediately released, was heading down 82nd Street, near Glenwood Road, about 10 p.m. when the duo started shooting and hit him in the torso, an NYPD spokesman said.

He kept driving until he lost control and flipped his black BMW outside 600 E. 82nd St., near Farragut Street, police said.

He was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital, police said. The city's Medical Examiner will determine his cause of death, police said.

The suspects fled and hadn't been arrested as of Friday morning, police said.
