CRIME BLOTTER: Man Throws Orange Traffic Cone at NYPD Agent Issuing Ticket

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A man hurled an orange plastic traffic cone at an NYPD traffic agent who was writing up a ticket for the man's car in Brooklyn Heights, police said.

The traffic agent was issuing a parking summons for the car at Henry and Orange streets on April 12 at around 2 p.m. when the 43-year-old man threw the cone at him, according to the police report.

The 59-year-old officer injured his right hand and was taken to New York Methodist Hospital for treatment.

Police arrested the man, and he was charged with attempted assault, among other charges.

Other notable crimes in the 84th Precinct, according to police, include:

► A soccer player's credit cards, cellphone and sunglasses were missing from his bag which he left near the field in Brooklyn Bridge Park on April 17 between 2 and 5 p.m., police said. When he went to pick up the bag, he found his valuables missing, including a $300 Samsung Galaxy 6 and $120 Oakley sunglasses.
