FDNY Rescued Dave Navarro After He Got Stuck In A Midtown Elevator

By Maya Rajamani | April 14, 2016 6:05pm

New York’s Bravest rescued guitarist Dave Navarro after he got trapped in a Midtown elevator Thursday morning.

The founding member of Jane’s Addiction and former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist was heading to Sirius XM’s office inside 1221 Avenue of the Americas around 8:45 a.m. when the elevator he was riding in with two women fell “at least ten stories” and got stuck, he told the New York Post.

“We felt it drop. It felt like the Tower of Terror, but it was less fun,” Navarro, 48, told the outlet.

The following are photos from Navarro's Instagram account:

Firefighters responded to the scene around 9:27 a.m., the FDNY said.

The rocker, who was married to actress and TV personality Carmen Electra from 2003 until 2007, took to Instagram to thank his rescuers.

Thanks to NYFD for a safe rescue!

The FDNY gave him a shout out on Twitter in response.

Navarro, who made it to his appearance on the “Opie with Jim Norton” radio show after the elevator scare, didn’t seem to be too shaken up by the incident.

“I was trapped in an elevator with two hot girls. How bad could that be?” Navarro told the Post.
