QUEENS — The Queens Library will be bringing its collection and special programming on wheels next week to celebrate National Library Week.

The van will make stops all around the borough, starting at 9 a.m. Monday at I.S. 295 in Queens Village.

It'll make more than a dozen stops throughout the week, with live performers and events at many locations. Residents can borrow books or apply for a library card if they don't already have one, officials said.

The theme of this year's National Library Week, sponsored by the American Library Association, is "Libraries Transform" — which Queens Library CEO Dennis Walcott discussed earlier this week at a budget hearing at the Main Street branch.

He called libraries the "great equalizer," and said he and his team were pushing the city to approve funds to keep some branches open every day.
