MANHATTAN — Two suspects who held up a man at gunpoint and tried to rob him on the Upper West Side are also wanted for the armed robbery of two women that same night in Washington Heights, police said.

The two suspects approached a 60-year-old man near 100 Riverside Blvd. near West 65th Street on March 19 at 1:20 a.m. and demanded he hand over his property, the NYPD said. One of the suspects flashed a firearm, but when the victim began to scream, both fled empty-handed, police said.

About an hour-and-a-half later, the two suspects — this time accompanied by two other suspects — approached a 24-year-old woman and 26-year-old woman with a knife and handgun at West 170th Street and Fort Washington Avenue and demanded they hand over their property, police said.

The women gave the suspects their phones, credit cards and approximately $100, police said. One of the victims told police the suspects followed them from the train station on 169th Street and Broadway.

Police described the four suspects as three men and a woman in their 20s.

One of the male suspects was described as approximately 6 feet, 180 pounds and was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket and blue jeans.

The second male suspect was described as approximately 5-foot-8, 160 pounds and was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a dark-colored hooded sweater.

The female suspect was described as 5-foot-3, 180 pounds and last seen wearing a gray-hooded sweater and dark-colored jacket.

Police described the third male suspect as wearing a white-hooded sweater, dark-colored jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers.
