In honor of Flag Day, which commemorates America's adoption of the stars and stripes flag it bears today (with a few slight alterations), we're taking a look at the local flags that many city citizens may not be aware of. Sure, you beat your chest with borough pride, wearing branded beanies and T-shirts, but just how much do you know about it?

For example: did you know your beloved borough has its own flag?

Only Brooklyn and the Bronx's are official, according to the city's administrative code, which omits those representing Manhattan, Staten Island, and Queens. (How rude.)
