BROOKLYN  — A Brooklyn judge set a trial date for the mother of a 2-year-old girl killed in a Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment fire.

Leila Aquino, 20, is set to stand trial on June 14 on charges of reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child for the February death of her daughter, Kaleenah Muldrow.

During a hearing Thursday, Aquino appeared in court with a social worker and stood quietly next to her attorney, Jacqueline Caruana, clad in a gray skirt and blazer.

Caruana declined to comment on the case.

Aquino was arrested on Feb. 23 when Kaleenah’s body was found hours after a fire tore through their Monroe Street home.

The mother told officials she had left the child home alone for hours and returned to the apartment after the blaze was extinguished, searching for her daughter, court papers show.

City caseworkers had previously investigated three complaints regarding the child’s welfare but saw no indication that Aquino had trouble caring for Kaleenah, according to the city’s Administration for Children’s Services.

Aquino was released in February on $10,000 bail, according to court records and officials.
