Man Indicted in Fatal Shooting at Bus Stop, DA Says

By Nicholas Rizzi | March 30, 2016 4:26pm

CLIFTON — A man was indicted for murder Tuesday after a shooting at a Clifton bus stop, District Attorney Michael McMahon announced.

Tyheim Sims, 21, was hit with murder and criminal possession of a weapon charges for gunning down Raquan Jenkins, 25, in December, McMahon said.

“It is alleged that this defendant fired an illegal handgun multiple times on a public street, fatally hitting his victim," McMahon said in a statement.

On Dec. 14, 2015, Jenkins was in front of the bus stop at 160 Tompkins Ave. at about 4 a.m. when Sims fired several shots, hitting Jenkins in the torso, the right foot and left eye, McMahon said.

The shooting stemmed from an argument between the two earlier that night, the DA said.

Jenkins was taken to Richmond University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The shooting also left a 17-year-old man with injuries, police said.

Sims' lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
