Monday, March 28

► Read and Worn

Where: Reinstein Ross, 30 Gansevoort St., Meatpacking District
When: 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The latest exhibition at the gallery at craft jeweler Reinstein Ross features wearable jewelry made from books and newspapers. The pieces are made by artists from London, Hungary, Israel and South Korea and are on view until April 24. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.

► "Life After Life in Prison" A Conversation on Women’s Imprisonment

Where: New York Law School, 185 W. Broadway at Leonard St., Tribeca
When: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

Women are now the fastest growing demographic of the prison population. This panel discussion of experts will delve into what life is like for incarcerated women and what life is like after they get out. An exhibit of photography, called "Life After Life in Prison," of formerly incarcerated women, will also be on display. Free.

 “Race: The Power of an Illusion” — A Screening and Discussion

Where: Brooklyn Historical Society, 128 Pierrepont St., Brooklyn Heights
When: 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The first episode of the PBS series "Race: The Power of an Illusion" will be screened at Brooklyn Historical Society, followed by a discussion led by Erica Chito-Childs, a sociology professor at CUNY, author and researcher. The event is free and tickets can be reserved in advance. 

► Treadwell Park Bingo Night

Where: Treadwell Park, 1125 First Ave., Upper East Side
When: 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Play bingo and win wacky prizes like an Elvis jumpsuit Snuggie, pinball machine socks, toilet coffee mugs, Pac Man lamps and “Das Horn” drinking vessels. Once you call bingo, you will be asked to spin the “Wheel of Chance” to determine your prize.

► Common Shade: A Discussion with Anna Sale of WNYC’s "Death, Sex, and Money"

Where: Green-Wood Cemetery, 500 25th St., Greenwood Heights
When: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $25 ($20 for members) for this talk with the host of the WNYC podcast “Death, Sex, and Money.” The discussion is this year’s first installment of the Common Shade discussion series presented by Green-Wood and the Morbid Anatomy Museum. The series is a "dialogue existing on the borderlands between the living and the dead,” according to the Green-Wood website.

Where: Brooklyn Public Library Main Branch, 10 Grand Army Plaza, Prospect Heights 
When: 7:30 p.m.

See Erik Larson, author of “The Devil in the White City,” discuss his new book “Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania.” Admission is free but RSVP is appreciated.

 Munch & Mingle: Healthy Food Access Meetup

Where: Our Saviour's Atonement Lutheran Church, 178 Bennett Ave. and 189th St., Washington Heights
When: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Join City Harvest and other community members for a special Washington Heights and Inwood Food Council event. Meet other residents to share concerns and ideas about how to create a healthier Uptown community. It’s a free event and snacks will available for participants. ► Planning an Urban Vegetable Garden

Where: Brooklyn Grange, 63 Flushing Ave., Brooklyn Navy Yard
When: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Brooklyn Grange’s head farmer Ben Flanner will show urban gardeners how to choose different types of planting boxes, work around different climate conditions, how to pick the best soil and where to purchase all your materials. He’ll also go over planting schedules and garden layout strategies with each individual gardener to make sure they get the best quality produce this season. Tickets cost $35.

► Women Poets at Barnard

Where: Sulzberger Parlor on 3rd floor of Barnard Hall on Broadway at W. 117th St., Morningside Heights
When: 7 p.m.

At this free event, award-winning poets Marilyn Hacker and Deema K. Shehabi will present their work and talk with the audience about poetry. The two women will also talk about their collaboration on a writing project in response to the 2009 invasion of Gaza.

Thursday, March 31

► Game Night: Lanterns

Where: Barnes & Noble, Upper East Side
When: 7 p.m.

Thursday nights are game nights at Barnes & Noble for all ages. The group will be playing Lanterns this Thursday.

► Hiroshima Bound

Where: Union Docs, 322 Union Ave., Williamsburg
When: 7:30 p.m.

Union Docs will host a screening then discussion of the film “Hiroshima Bound,” a documentary that tracks the portrayal of the bombings through the work of American and Japanese and American photographers. Tickets are $9.
