Where? Various locations around the city.
When? Fleet Week runs through Tuesday, May 31.
How Much? Many events are free. Check the website for full details.
Fleet Week New York celebrates the sea services provided by Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, and provides an excellent opportunity to witness the latest capabilities of today's maritime services. Saturday's events include:
— Military Day at Battery Park (7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) featuring military band performances, boot camp-style exercise session, military static displays and demonstrations.
— General Public Ship Tours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) in Manhattan on Pier 88, Pier 92 and the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, in Brooklyn at the Cruise Terminal and Homeport Pier in Staten Island.

Brooklyn Grange Farm tour
Where? 37-18 Northern Blvd., Long Island City
When? 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., every Saturday through October
How Much? Free
The Long Island City Rooftop Farm is the Grange Farm flagship farm (they're also at Brooklyn Navy Yard) and produces fresh fruit, vegetables and honey to dozens of restaurants and retailers throughout Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. Feed the chickens, buy some farm-fresh produce and get your hands dirty alongside the Brooklyn Grange Farm team.

When? 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily until Monday September 5. 
How Much? Free
Memorial Day weekend marks the opening of New York City beaches. During beach season — which, with a few exceptions, is extended beyond Labor Day this year — lifeguards are on duty daily, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Governors Island Family Fun Day
Where? Nolan Park, Governors Island
When? From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
How Much? Free
Governors Island opens this weekend and they’re celebrating with the Family Fun Day featuring dozens of kid-centric activities including The Story Pirates, Mario The Magician, and Grammy-winning band Tim Kubart and the Space Cadets. Take a picnic!

Lower East Side Festival Of The Arts Street Fair And Youth Program
Where? Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave., Lower East Side
When? Saturday 12 to 5 p.m., Sunday 6 p.m. ’til late.
How Much? Free
Celebrate the rich culture of downtown Manhattan at the 21st Annual Festival of the Arts. The theme for this year is "art knows no walls or barriers." It will feature theater, music, dance, comedy, performance art, poetry, video and fine art. Those participating include local theater and dance companies and hundreds of individual actors, singers, musicians, performers, poets, auteurs, painters and sculptors.

Summer on the Hudson: Learn To Ride
Where? Bike Path at 135th Street, West Harlem
When? 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
How Much? Free
Summer on the Hudson helps new riders from 5 years old and up, learn to balance and ride on two wheels.
