MIDTOWN — A brother and sister from New York City have been confirmed among the dead in the Brussels terror attacks, officials said.

Alexander and Sascha Pinczowski were speaking by phone with relatives at the Brussels Airport Tuesday morning when bombs exploded around 8 a.m., the AP reported, citing a statement from former U.S. Ambassador to Denmark James Cain.

Cain is the father of Alexander Pinczowski’s fiancée, Cameron Cain.

“We received confirmation this morning from Belgian Authorities and the Dutch Embassy of the positive identification of the remains of Alexander and Sascha,” Cain said in a statement, according to the Associated Press.

“We are grateful to have closure on this tragic situation and are thankful for the loving supports, thoughts and prayers from all.”

Mayor Bill de Blasio also expressed his condolences.

"We are deeply saddened to learn of the deaths of Sascha and Alexander Pinczowski in the horrific Brussels attack," he said in a statement. "Two young siblings from our city were taken from us far too soon, and our hearts break for the family and friends of Sascha and Alexander."

Sascha Pinczowski interned with production company Shiraz Events on West 22nd Street.

"The Shiraz family is heartbroken to receive the news that our former intern Sascha Pinczowski and her brother Alexander are among those that lost their lives in the horrific Brussels attack," Shiraz President Shai Tertner said in a statement.

"We remember her as a warm and lively presense during her too brief time with us. Her maturity, motivation, humor and professionalism were marked characteristics in someone of her young age and we felt that she had a great future in our industry."
