Last Weekend of Ice Skating in Prospect Park

When: Lakeside Skate Center, East Drive, Prospect Park
When: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday

Have one more spin around the ice this season before the crew at the Lakeside skating rink switch over to summer mode. With the forecast in the 50s, it should be a perfect, temperate weekend to strap on your ice skates one last time. (And by the way, roller skating starts April 9.)

“The Iron Giant” Screening at Sunset Park Kids’ Film Club

Where: Industry City, 241 37th St., Sunset Park
When: Doors open at 10 a.m.; Activities begin at 10:30 a.m.; Screening starts at 11:30 a.m.

The final event for Sunset Park’s cinema club for kids will be held on Saturday. Sunset Spark will lead a robot-building workshop and exhibition, followed by a screening of “The Iron Giant."

NYCares Day — Spruce Up Fort Greene Park

Where: Fort Greene Park Visitor’s Center, Fort Greene
When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It’s time for some spring cleaning at Fort Greene Park. Join the Fort Greene Park Conservancy for the first Saturday volunteer day of the year. Volunteers will meet at the Visitor’s Center at 10 a.m. All equipment will be provided. For more on volunteering at the park, email volunteer@fortgreenepark.org.

Bienvenidos A Nuestra Casa

Where: Silent Barn, 603 Bushwick Ave., Bushwick
When: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Silent Barn is hosting an exhibition of sculpture, photography, collages, drawings, paintings and poetry made by Bushwick teenagers.

Making Ghana Spinach Stew with Charles Cann

Where: Court Tree Collective, 371 Court St., Carroll Gardens
When: 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Learn how to make “Kontomire Stew,” a traditional Ghanaian dish that’s typically made among farming families using leaves from the Cocoyam plant. Outside of Ghana, the leaves are usually substituted for spinach. The lesson will be followed by a sit-down supper to try the dishes. The class is priced at $45 per person.

5th Annual Brooklyn Dance Festival

Where: BAM Fisher Fishman Space, 321 Ashland Place, Fort Greene
When: 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The Brooklyn Dance Festival returns to the Brooklyn Academy of Music, bringing with it 12 of the city’s best emerging and youth dance companies. This year’s festival will feature SynthesisDANCE, the Brooklyn Dance Festival Company, Kristin Sudeikis Dance, 10 Hairy Legs and more. Tickets start at $35. To purchase, click here.

Deru presents 1979 with Effixx

Where: BRIC House Ballroom, 647 Fulton St., Fort Greene
When: Doors open at 8 p.m.

Emmy-award winning composer, sound designer and producer Benjamin Wynn, known as Deru, presents his latest project “1979,” a concept album that features nine songs accompanied by nine short films by video artist Anthony Ciannamea (Effixx). The team will perform the album live for an immersive visual and aural experience. Violinist and singer Hannah Epperson will open the night. Tickets cost $18 in advance and $21 at the door. If you buy your ticket in advance, you’ll get a digital copy of the soon-to-be-released “1979: Remixed.”

Lucey’s Lounge Fourth Anniversary Party

Where: Lucey’s Lounge, 475 Third Ave., Gowanus

Celebrate this neighborhood bar’s fourth birthday with an all-day party starting at noon. The festivities will be fueled by $7 bloody marys and $8 mimosas, plus food and prizes. At 8 p.m. Michael Arenella and members of his Dreamland Orchestra will perform.
