MIDTOWN — An employee at an Italian restaurant across from Radio City Music Hall stabbed his co-worker in the back with a kitchen knife and slashed his arm after an argument at the eatery, police said.

The 21-year-old male victim was leaving Barilla at 1290 Sixth Ave. around 11:30 p.m. on March 17 when a male colleague confronted him, using a kitchen knife to stab him once in the right side of his back and slash his left arm, the NYPD said.

The victim told police he and his attacker had been arguing inside the restaurant prior to the attack.

His co-worker left work early following the dispute but waited for him outside the restaurant, which has an entrance on West 52nd Street, the victim told police.

After the stabbing, the injured employee rode the train to his home in The Bronx before calling 911, police said.

He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital for treatment, the NYPD said.

A manager at Barilla declined to comment on the incident Tuesday.
