We are a city of drinkers living beyond our means, which makes the Price Per Pint app so helpful.
As the brainchild of Baruch College's Macaulay Honors student Sean Proctor, 22, Price Per Pint recently launched with data from more than 400 city bars, the New York Post reported.
As you'll see in the app, red bottles denote "shouts" for bars that have happy hour or other daily specials while the blue bottles show a bar's regular lowest drink price.
As a post from Bustle points out, it's the search function that may be most useful to New Yorkers. You can search by the kind of drink you'd like to consume — wine, beer, shots, mixed drinks — adding what part of town you'll be drinking in and what time of day you'll be there.
The app then pulls up the nearby bars that offer the cheapest tipples, including any specials that will be offered at the time of day when you'll be there.
You can buy the app on the iTunes store and on Google Play.
