BROOKLYN — Police found an assault rifle, shotgun and a large stash of armor-piercing bullets in a car they pulled over because the driver wasn't wearing a seat belt Thursday, NYPD officials said.
Inspector Joseph Gulotta, commanding officer of the 67th Precinct, was driving with his lieutenant John Hopkins when they pulled over a 2016 Chevy Malibu near East New York Avenue and Rockaway Parkway about 4:30 p.m. because the driver, Larry Black, 23, didn't have his seat belt on, an NYPD spokesman said.

After police asked Black for his license and registration, they realized the car was rented, but not to him or the other two people in it, officials said.
One of them spotted a butterfly knife, which prompted the police to arrested everyone inside and search the entire car, officials said.
They found an M4 assault rifle, a Mossberg shotgun, a Llama .45-caliber pistol, a Glock 19, 10 magazines, about 100 rounds of hollow point and armor-piercing bullets, an NYPD spokesman said. They also had two knives.
Black was arrested on weapons charges and for a seat belt violation, police said.
The man who was sitting in the passenger's seat, Denzel High, 23, was carrying the .45 handgun and also charged with weapons possession, police said.
A 19-year-old girl, Damaris Viera, also faced charges of criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
They hadn't been arraigned as of Friday afternoon, prosecutors said.
