It’s that time of the year again. This Sunday, March 20th, Coney Island's amusement parks, Luna Park and  Deno's Wonder Wheel Park are officially opening for the season. Deno’s Wonder Wheel Park is offering free Wonder Wheel rides for the first 96 people in line and Luna Park is offering free rides on the Cyclone for the first 100 people in line.

This year, the People’s Playground celebrates the landmark Wheel’s 96th anniversary. Park owners Dennis and Steve Vourderis are eager to celebrate with amusement lovers in the 31st annual “Blessing of the Rides,” the ribbon cutting ceremony that will inaugurate the fair summer ahead.

Rides open at 11:30 am following the blessing and ribbon cutting.
