MORRISANIA — A thief held up an employee of a Metro PCS at gunpoint before snatching eight cell phones and $4,000 from the store, police said.

The suspect came up to a 20-year-old female employee in the store at 827 Westchester Ave. on Monday around 4 p.m. and took out a rifle, according to the NYPD.

He then grabbed her by the hair, pushed her into the back room of the store and stole eight cell phones before returning to the front of the store to nab $4,000 from the cash register, police said.

The suspect fled in an unknown direction, according to police.

Metro PCS declined to comment on the robbery.

Officers described the suspect as a bearded man between 35 and 45 years old who weighs 200 pounds, stands between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall, has green eyes and was last seen in a blue baseball hat, black boots, camouflaged pants and a black jacket.
