EAST VILLAGE — Asian grocery store M2M has shuttered its Third Avenue location to make way for the popular British ramen chain Wagamama, which plans to open in the fall.

The market and convenience store cleared out of its 55 Third Ave. home of roughly 15 years over the weekend, as first reported by EV Grieve, but plans to reopen just a block away at 37 Third Ave. in a few months.

The lease for M2M's original Third Avenue location was up, according to EV Grieve and a cashier at the store's outpost at 19 Waverly Place.

Until the reopening, slated for this summer, customers are encouraged to visit the store's Waverly Place location, according to a sign posted in the shop's window.

The grocery store also has a location in Morningside Heights at 2935 Broadway.

London-based pan-Asian restaurant Wagamama, which last year opened its first New York City location in Flatiron, plans to take over the space, according to documents filed with the local community board.

The eatery's opening is slated for early fall, a spokeswoman told DNAinfo New York.

The second outpost marks only the beginning of the popular joint's expansion — its proprietors plan to bring a whopping 650 locations to the United States, starting on the East Coast, according to Eater.
