CROWN HEIGHTS — A father of two, who was expecting another child in two weeks, was fatally shot in the head late Thursday in Crown Heights, police and family said.

Marlon Shuffler, 22, was outside 541 Lincoln Place, near Franklin Avenue, about 11:32 p.m. when someone shot him in the head, NYPD officials said.

Shuffler was pronounced dead at Methodist Hospital, police said.

Shuffler was a "loveable person" who had a 5-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son, according to his aunt, Katrina Glover, 45.

Shuffler, who also wanted to pursue a music career, was expecting another son within two weeks, she said.

"He was a good guy, a good son, a good father. It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. The link in our chain is broken. Marlon, you'll be missed," Glover said.

"It's not fair he was taken away from his family, his children especially. This was not Marlon's plan," she added.

At the scene of the shooting Friday morning, the victim's 47-year-old uncle, who identified himself only as Philip, described his nephew as a "family guy."

Police didn't say what sparked the shooting. Philip said his nephew was the victim of an argument that escalated.

"It’s summer and that’s how they get around here. It was an argument. A usual argument with young kids," he said. "Today is one sad day."

Investigators closed off the street to traffic, using crime tape strung across the roadway.

The shooting occurred only hours after two teenagers were shot and injured near the Clara Barton High School campus in Crown Heights, located about three blocks away from where the 22-year-old was gunned down.

Shuffler's aunt, whose own brother was killed near where the Thursday night shooting, is tired of the violence in the neighborhood, she said.

"I'm tired of coming to Franklin Avenue. I'm tired of losing part of my history. I'm tired of burying my friends, my family," Glover said.
