UPPER WEST SIDE — A thief hit a MAC Cosmetics shop on Columbus Avenue, stealing hundreds of dollars in makeup brushes and mascara, police said.

The suspect swiped $1,600 in merchandise from the store at 148 Columbus Ave., between West 66th and 67th streets, on Feb. 27 at 5 p.m., the NYPD said.

The shoplifter grabbed 67 items — a combination of makeup brushes and mascara — from a display table inside the shop, police said.

This MAC store has been the target of thieves in the past.

In January, a woman stole $2,800 worth of makeup from the store at the same time of day as last month's incident.

The store declined to comment.
