QUEENS — A 17-year-old girl who was pushed onto the subway tracks managed to wedge herself between the rails and platform and was narrowly missed by an oncoming 7 train Saturday, police said.
The girl, whose name was not immediately released, was on the Manhattan-bound platform of the 103rd Street-Corona Plaza station at about 8:40 p.m. when a man came up behind her and pushed her into the path of an oncoming 7 train, NYPD officials said.
The girl crawled to the side of the tracks and positioned herself between the platform and the train's wheels, police said.
The train's operator hit the emergency brakes and the girl was removed from the tracks, police said.
She was treated at Elmhurst Hospital for minor injuries, police said.
The suspect, who can be seen in police video, fled the station and hadn't been arrested as of Monday morning, NYPD officials said.
Police describe him to be in his late 20s, standing about 5-feet-5-inches tall, and was last seen wearing a black jacket, white T-shirt, gray pants and white sneakers, police said.
