Friday, March 4

Panorama Challenge

Where: Queens Museum, Flushing Meadows Corona Park
When: 6 p.m.

How well do you know New York City? Test your knowledge on the mini version of the five boroughs inside the Queens Museum at the ninth-annual Panorama Challenge. Tickets are $15 and benefit The City Reliquary Museum in Williamsburg. 

Saturday, March 5

► Rockaway St. Paddy's Day Parade

Where: Starts at Beach 129th Street and Newport Avenue, turns down Beach 116th Street and ends at Beach 100th Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard
When: 1 p.m.

Everybody loves a parade and this one, the borough's largest, is a fun and festive way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Stick around the peninsula after it's over to drink in many area bars. 

Emerging Artist Fellowship Exhibition Closing Reception

Where: Socrates Sculpture Park, 32-01 Vernon Blvd., Astoria
When: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Join the outdoor museum as it celebrates the ending of this year's Emerging Artist exhibit, featuring works by 15 contemporary sculptors chosen for Socrates Sculpture Park's annual fellowship. The pieces, which went on display this past fall, include a tree filled with musical wind chimes.

► Hands on History: Fruit Harvest

Where: King Manor Museum, 150-03 Jamaica Ave., Jamaica
When: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Listen to stories about colonial farming and make 3-dimensional paper produce inspired by the crops Rufus King, a founding father who once lived in Jamaica, grew on his farm. The event is free.

► An Afternoon of Music with Mark Belitsky, Russian Bard and Songwriter

Where: Rego Park Library, 91-41 63rd Drive, Rego Park
When: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Mark Belitsky, a Russian poet and folk singer from Saint Petersburg who immigrated to the U.S. in 1975, will sing original songs of his own composition and from other Russian composers. Admission is free.

► Ridgewood Night Bazaar

Where: Ridgewood Market at Gottscheer Hall, 657 Fairview Ave., Ridgewood
When: 5 p.m. 

Eat, drink and shop local at this night market featuring artisans and other vendors. There are kid-friendly activities, too, and admission is free.

Lexington Piano Trio

Where: The Church-in-the-Gardens, 50 Ascan Ave., Forest Hills
When: 7:30 p.m.

Lexington Piano Trio with violinist Cyrus Beroukhim, cellist Arash Amini, and pianist Barbara Podgurski will perform some of the most demanding classical works, including Ludwig van Beethoven’s piano trio Op. 70 no. 1 "Ghost" and piano trio in E minor by Dmitri Shostakovich. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students.

Sunday, March 6

St. Pat's For All Parade

Where: Starts at 43rd Street and Skillman Avenue, ends at 58th Street and Roosevelt Avenue in Woodside
When: Remarks at 1 p.m., parade starts at 2 p.m.

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day early at this annual parade through Sunnyside and Woodside. This parade began more than 15 years ago as a more inclusive alternative to Manhattan's parade on 5th Avenue. Novelist Colum McCann and philanthropist Loretta Brennan Glucksman will serve as this year's grand marshals.

Sunnyside Irish Music Festival

Where: Sunnyside's Boulevard Bars, various locations
When: Starting at 3 p.m.

A group of eight neighborhood bars will host live Irish music, Irish food, bagpipes and Irish dancing along with drink specials as part of this annual celebration following the St. Pat's for All Parade. Find a lineup of music here.
