Three sheriff’s deputies at a San Francisco jail are accused to forcing inmates to fight one another against their will and threatening them with mace or a stun gun if they refused, SFGate reports. Nickelodeon Revives ‘Legends of the Hidden Temple’ as a TV Movie

Calling all Silver Snakes and Blue Barracudas: Nickelodeon is bringing back a popular 1990s game show with a live-action TV movie inspired by “Legends of the Hidden Temple.” The film will follow three siblings as they go through a series of obstacles to stay alive, Variety reports. Scott Kelly Grew 2 Inches After Spending a Year in Space

Astronaut Scott Kelly, 52, arrived in the U.S. early Thursday morning after a year-long mission in space. NASA doctors will soon examine him, as well as his identical twin brother Mark Kelly, a retired astronaut, to learn more about how the human body adjusts to a long-duration spaceflight. Kelly said that overall he “feels pretty good,” but apparently is now two inches taller than his brother Mark. The spine lengthens in space because the disks of the spinal columns, which as usually compressed due to gravity, expand. [NBC]

A Team of Refugees Will Compete at This Year’s Olympics

For the first time, a team of refugee athletes — who’ve been forced to leave their home countries but haven’t established citizenship elsewhere — will get to compete in the Olympic games, which are held this year in Brazil. “We want to send a message of hope for all refugees in our world,” said International Olympics Committee President Thomas Bach. Forty-three refugee athletes have been chosen to compete for spots on a team of between five and 10 total. [Quartz]
