CORONA — Police officers busted two men who allegedly stole a man's cellphone and cash when the phone rang from one of the alleged thief's pocket after an officer called it.

Moses Mangandy, 18, and Samuel Rodriguez, 19, allegedly stole cash and a phone from a 33-year-old man, who they threatened with metal pipes, police said.

Officers from the 115th Precinct received an alert about the robbery in progress on their department-issued cellphones, and responded to the corner of 37th Avenue and 103rd Street in Corona.

They found the victim, who directed them to Mangandy and Rodriguez.

When officers stopped the suspects they dialed the victim's cellphone, which then rang from inside one of the men's jacket pocket, according to the NYPD.

They later recovered cash, metal pipes and five other cell phones on the suspects, police said.

Detectives are investigating if the suspects are responsible for other robberies, according to the NYPD.
