ANNADALE — A woman who became a YouTube sensation playing the "Blue Fairy" in a rap video about prescription drug abuse was found dead inside her Staten Island home, police said.
Sharissa Turk, 25, was found unconscious in a hallway inside her Jefferson Boulevard home about 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the NYPD said.
Officers who responded said Turk had no apparent trauma on her body. EMS workers pronounced her dead at the scene, police said.
Turk was reportedly 8-months pregnant, according to the New York Daily News.
In 2012, Turk played the "Blue Fairy" in a rap video by local group "White Trash Clan" about prescription drug abuse in Staten Island. She's the second person from the video to die.
The "My World is Blue" video had Turk wearing wings and waving a wand while Gerard "Incite" Kelly and Daniel "Anonymous" Haley rapped about drug use, nicknaming Staten Island "painkiller paradise."
The duo later told the Staten Island Advance the video wasn't meant to laud drug use but raise awareness to Staten Island's addiction problem.
Last year, Kelly died in Staten Island University Hospital at age 32, the Advance reported.
The video went viral in 2013 after Turk was among 32 people arrested in a large drug ring. She sold oxycodone to undercover officers and pleaded guilty to criminal sale of a controlled substance, according to the Staten Island District Attorney's office.
After she completed a drug-treatment program in April 2014 — which included testing and a curfew — the case was dismissed and sealed, the DA said.
Turk was arrested again in August for criminal possession of a controlled substance and an unknown violation, the DA said.
She pleaded guilty to the violation in October, received two days of community service and was conditionally discharged.
The medical examiner will determine Turk's cause of death, police said.
