BUSHWICK — A woman was shot and a man stabbed during a dispute that spilled out of a Brooklyn nightclub early Friday morning, police said.

The woman, 20, was shot in the right leg and the man, 32, was stabbed in the torso after a fight that started inside Club Republic, at 990 Broadway, moved to the street around 1:45 a.m., an NYPD spokesman said.

The club is located near the borders of Bushwick and Bed-Stuy.

Both victims were taken to Kings County Hospital with injuries that did not appear life-threatening, police said. The relationship between the victims is not yet known.

The incident occurred outside a Checkers restaurant at 1132 Myrtle Ave., about a block from the club, as police were dispersing the large crowd that had gathered at Club Republic, the NYPD said.

Checkers was left with shattered front windows and glass spilled along the sidewalk Friday morning.

A man who lives near the scene said he was woken by the sound of between four and six gunshots.

"It was super loud. They were one after another, no pause," said the man, who declined to give his name.

No arrests have been made, and police do not yet have a description of a suspect.
