ELMHURST — Celebrate the year of the monkey with arts and crafts, a Korean drumming workshop and live music at a festival this weekend.

The Lunar New Year celebration, sponsored by Councilman Danny Dromm, honors multiple cultures through music and dance.

There will be a traditional Korean music and dance performance, as well as a drum lesson. The Elmhurst Chinese Dance Group will perform, and the Tak Wah Kung Fu Club will do a tiger dance.

Kids can also get their faces painted and can do arts and crafts with members from the Queens Museum.

The event is co-sponsored by Emblem Health, Asian Community United Society and First American International Bank.

It will be held at St. James Episcopal Church at 84-07 Broadway from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. It's free for everyone.
