MANHATTAN — Police released video over the weekend of the teen who they said slashed a Silver Spurs busboy trained in mixed martial arts across the left cheek.

The teen, who police believe is between 15 and 18, was inside the restaurant at 490 LaGuardia Place, near West Houston, about 8 p.m. Wednesday asking patrons to donate to his basketball team when a busboy, Bobby Barbot, 25, told him to leave.

The teen tried to punch Barbot, who has fought in amateur mixed martial arts bouts, and missed.

The busboy told DNAinfo New York that he swung back, knocking the boy to the ground.

The teen left, only to return with a box cutter and slashed it across Barbot's left cheek, he and police said.

"I didn't feel nothing. I heard the blade smack my cheek. I just feel lucky he didn't hit my neck," Barbot said.

"I was never scared. I was just shocked when I felt my hand touch my face and it was full of blood," the busboy added.

The teen fled the scene and hadn't been arrested as of Monday morning, police said.

Barbot got 137 stitches on his cheek and 10 more in his mouth at Bellevue Hospital and was released, he said.

Investigators released footage of the suspect, who carried a purple folder and a green bubble jacket with a gray hoodie, and another boy entering another restaurant.

They also released photos of the suspect and another boy in the West Fourth Street subway station after the attack, police said.
