RED HOOK — Electric car company Tesla Motors has signed a lease to open its first Brooklyn showroom in Red Hook, according to a report.

Tesla will take over about 40,000 square feet in Red Hook's former Golten Marine Terminal building at 160 Van Brunt St. at the corner of Hamilton Avenue, The Real Deal reports

The 98,650 square-foot warehouse, owned by real estate company LIVWRK, is being converted into office spaces.

Golten Marine served as a factory for repairing ship parts for decades before it shuttered in 2014.

Neither Tesla nor LIVWRK immediately returned queries seeking comment Friday.
