MANHATTAN — A man was stabbed during a mugging on the Upper West Side, the second such attack in Manhattan on Thursday, officials said.

A 33-year-old man was walking west on West 88th Street when a man grabbed him from behind, held a knife to his neck and demanded his property in front of 105 West 88th Street near Columbus Avenue at 4:55 p.m., police said.

The victim gave the man his Kindle and headphones; a struggle ensued and the man stabbed the victim in the upper back before fleeing east on West 88th Street.

The victim was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital and was expected to survive. He was listed in stable condition, police said Friday morning.

Local restaurant worker Angie Noll saw the victim with standing at the corner with a bloody shirt.

"That doesn't happen on the Upper West Side," Noll said.

The suspect, who is described as in his mid-20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds, with a thin build, was last seen headed west on West 89th Street. He was wearing a blue jogging jacket, blue jeans, a black Nike sweatshirt, black sneakers and a red baseball cap, police said.

There were no immediate arrests Thursday and the suspect was still at large as of Friday morning, according to police.

Another 21-year-old man was slashed in SoHo earlier Thursday by a man in a ski mask
