Saturday, Feb. 13

Seeding for Spring Workshop

Where: Snug Harbor Cultural Center, 1000 Richmond Terrace, Livingston 
When: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The New York City Compost Project continues their series of workshops to get ready for the spring growing season with a lesson on soil and how compost can help correct common soil problems. The workshop is $5 and will be at the Winter Garden inside the lobby of Building P.

Valentine's Day Craft Fair

Where: Art on the Terrace, 776 Richmond Terrace, Livingston
When: Noon to 6 p.m.

The Staten Island Creative Community will host a craft fair featuring handcrafted items by local artists for sale in their Art on the Terrace gallery space.

Sarah Yuster's Native Soil

Where: Staten Island Museum, 1000 Richmond Terrace, Livingston
When: 2 to 3 p.m.

Local urban landscape artist, well known for painting a view of Victory Boulevard throughout the years and a portrait of Neil DeGrasse Tyson on display inside the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum, will give a talk and slideshow about the streets and landscapes she paints. The artist talk — which includes wine — is $15 with museum admission, free for members.

"Snow" by Orah Pamuk Reading

Where: Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve, 2351 Veterans Road West, Charleston
When: 2 p.m.

Staten Island OutLOUD will gather inside Clay Pit Ponds State Park's interpretive center to read the novel "Snow" by Turkish author Orah Pamuk. After the free reading — whether permitting — park rangers will lead the group on a walk through the woods.

Historic Richmond Town Tavern Concert

Where: Historic Richmond Town's Guyon Tavern, 441 Clarke Ave., Richmond Town
When: 6 and 8 p.m.

The Historic Richmond Town's series of unplugged concerts inside their Guyon Tavern continues with two Saturday performances by the Richmond Tavernacle Choir playing a series of sea shanties and sailor sing-alongs. Tickets are $11 online, $13 at the door.

Sunday, Feb. 14

Third Annual Winter Wine Salon

Where: Art Lab, 1000 Richmond Terrace, Livingston
When: 2 to 4 p.m.

Celebrate the art of wine on Valentine's Day at the third annual Winter Wine Salon at Art Lab. Wine expert Deb McCole will explore wines from Australia with the Art Lab's "Open Show" on exhibit. Tickets are $35 and people can register by calling 718-447-8667 or in person.
