What To Do With Your Kids Over Presidents Week Break

Got the kids for the week? Here's how to keep them busy:

► Kid's Week at Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum
Where: Pier 86, W. 46th St. and 12th Ave., Hell's Kitchen
When: Monday, Feb. 15 to Saturday, Feb. 20, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For all of Presidents Week Break, the Intrepid Museum will be featuring a jam-packed "Extreme Environments" Kids Week this year. An interactive way to excite kids about science and the world around them, the museum will teach kids about animal adaptation in extreme environments, gravitational laboratories and black holes, and the search for life in the cosmos. General admission museum tickets are $24 for adults, $19 for youth (7 to 17), $12 for children (3 to 6), and free for children under 3. Anyone under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Screening of "Inside Out" in 3D
Where: Museum of the Moving Image, 36-01 35 Ave., Astoria
When: 12:20 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15 to Friday, Feb. 19

Come watch this Oscar-nominated heartwarming Pixar tale about a girl learning how to process and embrace all those good, bad, and in between feelings. The movie is rated PG. General tickets are $12, $9 for seniors and students, $6 for children (3 to 12), and free for members. 

Presidents Week Holiday at Prospect Park
Where: Audubon Center and Lefferts Historic House, Prospect Park
When: All week, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.; individual event times vary

A series of kid-friendly events are lined up at Prospect Park next week, including bird watching with binoculars and field guides, learn about animals up close and personal and feed them, and participate in interactive science games. Tickets are $11 per person and free for members and enfants (under 12 months). 

American Museum of Natural History
Where: Central Park West and 79th St., Upper West Side
When: Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Come check out the museum's recent Titanosaur exhibit featuring a 122-foot-long model of a newly discovered 70-ton herbivore dinosaur, visit the Secret World Inside You exhibit to learn about the 100 trillion bacteria inside your body or scope out the ever-popular Butterfly Conservatory. General admission for adults is $22, $12.50 for children (2 to 12), and $17 for seniors and students. 

Brooklyn Children's Museum
Where: 145 Brooklyn Ave., Crown Heights 
When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15 to Friday, Feb. 19

The museum's "play:ground" exhibit is an ideal place for children of all ages to engage in imaginative play in this indoor adventure playground. They'll be encouraged to create their own worlds with cardboard, tape, and other household items.

 Northern Forts Tour at Central Park 
Where: 
Charles A. Dana Discovery Center, inside the Park at 110th St. b/t Fifth and Lenox Ave.
When: 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15 and Thursday, Feb. 18

Combine outdoor exercise and U.S. history for your younger ones with this approximately 90 minute Northern Forts Tour at Central Park. The guided tour travels through the north end of the park and reveals its rich history spanning the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. Highlights include McGowan's Pass, Fort Clinton, Nutter's Battery, and the Harlem Meer. Tickets are $15 and $10 for members.

Hot Chocolate Festival 2016 at City Bakery 
Where: 3 W. 18th St., Union Square
When: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Treat yourself and your family to a different flavor of hot chocolate every day of the month of February for their annual Hot Chocolate Festival. The hot chocolate flavors on deck next week include flavors such as Tropical Hot Chocolate, Happy Hot Chocolate and Ode to Polar Bear Hot Chocolate.

► Untapped! At the New Victory Theater
Where: 229 W. 42nd St., Times Square 
When: 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15; 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17; 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19

Experience this innovative tap dance crew featuring street dance styles and percussion to the playlist of funk, hip-hop, jazz, and rock music. This Australian dance crew is fresh from its world tour and is joined by a beatboxer and a live band. The show is an hour long with no intermission. Tickets start at $15. 

► New York Hall of Science
Where:  
47-01 111th St., Corona
When: Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; individual exhibit times differ 

The New York Hall of Science is an educational space for kids to explore the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). View artwork inspired by the theme of biodiversity and extinction, see the winning images of the 2015 Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition, and kick off Engineering Week on Monday with different engineering lessons and hands-on application activities afterward. Free with NYSCI admission.
