EAST ELMHURST — A woman was slashed in the thigh while jogging Sunday morning, police said.
The victim was running on 25th Avenue, between 79th and 80th streets near LaGuardia Landing Lights park, at approximately 11 a.m. Sunday when a man ran up beside her and slashed her in the left thigh, according to the NYPD.
It's not clear what the suspect used as a weapon.
The suspect — described as approximately 25 years old, dressed in a gray sweatshirt, black shorts and black sneakers — took off.
The woman was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and was treated for an inch-long gash, police said.
