As the day before the Christian season of Lent, Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras is the time to overindulge in the vices. Whether with traditional Zydeco music or the funk of George Clinton himself, these local spots will help you celebrate in style.

Mardi Gras Bash! With Hungry March Band, Jonathan Toubin and Baby Soda 

Where: The Bell House, 149 7th St., Gowanus
When: Tuesday, Feb. 9, doors open 8 p.m., show time 9 p.m.

Make some noise at The Bell House with award-winning brass ensemble Hungry March Band, innovative soul DJ Jonathan Toubin and the ever-changing wind and string musical group Baby Soda. Tickets are $15. 

► George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic

Where: B.B. King Blues Club & Grill, 237 W. 42nd St., Times Square
When: Tuesday, Feb. 9; doors open 6 p.m.; show time 8 p.m.

Groove to the funky music of innovator George Clinton and his band for B.B. King Blues Club & Grill's fourth annual "Funky Fat Tuesday" celebration. Tickets are $39.50 in advance; $45 day of show. 

Mardi Gras Celebration at French Roast Uptown

Where: French Roast Uptown, 2340 Broadway, Upper West Side
When: Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 5:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.

If you're craving some good New Orleans grub, come to French Roast for a delicious offering of classic dishes such as blackened catfish, chicken and sausage gumbo, and seafood etouffee à la carte style along with many specialty cocktails. 

► Mardi Gras at Duane Park

Where: 308 Bowery St., NoHo
When: Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m for The Queen's Seating; 8:45 p.m. for The King's seating

For those looking for an immersive experience, come to Duane Park to enjoy the old, Southern decor, magic and burlesque performances, and classic three-course meal options like pan-roasted shrimp with Nora Mills cheese grits, chicken-andouille gumbo and tender braised pork.

Mardi Gras Drinks at Bourbon Street Bar & Grill

Where: 346 W. 46th St., Hell's Kitchen
When: Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 5 p.m.

Come to this Hell's Kitchen Mardi Gras party and enjoy the bar's drink specials on Abita beer, hurricanes and more. No tickets or reservations required. The bar has happy hour every Monday to Friday at 11 a.m. to 8 a.m. and Sunday to Wednesday at 11:45 p.m. to 4 a.m. 

Mardi Gras-Fat Tuesday at Bo's Kitchen & Bar Room

Where: 6 W. 24th St., Flatiron
When: Tuesday, Feb. 9, 7 p.m.

Come out to this urbane NOLA restaurant for drink specials and live music by Dr. Zsa's powdered Zydeco band. 

Fat Friday 2016! 

Where: Angel Orensanz Foundation, 172 Norfolk St., Lower East Side
When: Friday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. for VIP; 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. for general admission 

Come "give back by totally getting down" at this charity Fat Friday event featuring live brassy Mardi Gras music, New Orleans food and dancing. General admission tickets are from $15 to $35. VIP tickets are $100 to $1,200. Proceeds will go to charitable organizations such as art organization FIGMENT (NYC), New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation and The Roots of Music (NOLA).
