When Chuck called for an early spring, he meant it.

WEATHER: Temperatures are expected to peak at a spring-like 58 degrees today, six degrees below the record high of 64 degrees documented in 1991. It shouldn't get any colder than 50 degrees, Accuweather forecasts. (Staten Island Chuck, you should take pride, as any meteorologist would, in yesterday's prediction that we'll have an 'early, early spring.'"

But the warm weather comes — most unfortunately — with cloudy skies, rain and winds as strong as 43 mph.

The rain should start at 10 a.m. and continue with a few dry interludes, until 8 p.m.

SUBWAYS: All subways except the southbound A/C trains are running with good service as of 8:25 a.m.

The A/C delay is due to signal problems at Downtown Brooklyn's Jay St- MetroTech station.

We give today a winter misery index of 5, because we're conflicted; yes, today will be miserable, but it's spring inflicting our suffering, not winter.
