By Aidan Gardiner | February 1, 2016 9:53am

BROOKLYN — A man was found hanged in his jail cell Sunday, hours after he was arrested for drunkenly crashing into another car in Canarsie, sources said.

Serge Duthley, 28, crashed into the vehicle outside 9011 Avenue J, near Remsen Avenue, about 12:43 p.m. Sunday, an NYPD spokesman said.

Responding officers realized Duthley was drunk and arrested him, police said. They first brought him to the Intoxicated Driver Testing Unit at the 78th Precinct station house and then back to the 69th Precinct station house, police said.

Officers found Duthley about 5:30 p.m., police said. Investigators believe he used his own shirt to hang himself, sources said.

Duthley, of Canarsie, was pronounced dead at Brooklyn Hospital, police said. The Medical Examiner will determine his cause of death, police said.

The circumstances of the initial crash were not immediately clear.
