Saturday, January 30
Family Day: Korean New Year 2016
Where? 950 Third Ave., Midtown
When? 3 to 5 p.m.
How Much? $30 per family of 3-5 people ($5 for each additional family member), $15 for individuals. Tickets must be purchased in advance here.
Celebrate Sŏllal, the Korean New Year, with a day of fun-filled family activities including storytelling based on Korean folk tales. Practice sebae, the New Year’s bow, to show respect for elders or play a Korean hand-drum, learn brush painting, compete in traditional games, and participate in arts and crafts projects.

The LEGO Americana Roadshow: Building Across America
Where? 2655 Richmond Ave., Staten Island
When? Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
How Much? Free
The Lego Americana Roadshow is a traveling installation of 10 one-of-a-kind, large scale models of American Landmarks made completely out of Lego bricks by Lego Master Builders — including the U.S. Capitol Building, White House, Supreme Court, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Statue of Liberty, Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and Old North Church.

The Astronaut's Tale
Where? BAM Fisher, 321 Ashland Pl., Brooklyn
When? Performances on Saturday at 3 and 8 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m.
How Much? From $20
Encompass New Opera Theatre presents this story of a young man and his dream of becoming an astronaut, set to a chamber orchestra. Recommended for children 8 and older.

Film Forum Jr. Sunday Matinee Series

Film Forum's weekly kids film features director Stanley Donen's "The Little Prince" a musical based on the classic book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry about a mysterious boy and his adventure to earth. The cast includes Gene Wilder and Bob Fosse.

Science Inspires Art: Biodiversity/Extinction and Nikon Small World
Where? New York Hall of Science, 47-01 111th St., Queens
When? 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
How Much? Free between 10 and 11 a.m. Otherwise, $5 for adults and $12 for ages 2-17
View the works of 23 artists in this science-inspired exhibition about biodiversity and extinction. Also showing is Nikon Small World, which features the images that won the 2015 Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition, including a close-up of a bee's eye covered in pollen grains. 

Carnegie Kids: Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem

A dance-friendly family concert that features a blend of traditional, contemporary and original songs that range from funk to blues to gospel, and includes homemade instruments made from recycled materials.
