Two adult residents received aid — including emergency housing at a local hotel — from the Red Cross, said Michael de Vulpillieres, communications officer for the organization's greater New York chapter.
The city's Department of Buildings issued a complaint against the property on Monday, after the home's roof collapsed in the fire and the FDNY asked for an inspection into its stability, according to DOB records.
The DOB issued a violation against the property on June 24, 2015, after getting a complaint that the attic had been illegally converted into apartments and that tenants were living there. The outcome of the DOB inspection was not immediately available.
