WILLIAMSBURG — A Manhattan man crept into his friend's apartment while she was watching TV, told her he'd found a "better b--ch" then stole her underwear, bra, $50 cash and an aromatherapy lamp, police said.

The 30-year-old man was violating an active order of protection when he entered the 27-year-old's South 4th Street home Jan. 14 at 2:30 a.m., according to prosecutors and police.

After snatching the woman's $210 lamp and Victoria's Secret lingerie, he fled the apartment, possibly in an Uber car, police said.

He is now also facing charges for a second incident involving the same victim that took place Nov. 30, prosecutors said.

In that incident, the man showed up at the victim's apartment and threw her onto the bed, held her down and screamed at her, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney.

The woman managed to wriggle free and escape into the bathroom where she dialed 911.

When the woman emerged, he fled the apartment but ripped a painting off the wall and damaged it, prosecutors said.

Both incidents violated an active order of protection that a judge had issued Oct. 9 that is valid through April, according to court documents.

Neil Ruskin, the man's attorney, called the charges against his client "baseless" and said he was "100 percent" sure they would be dismissed.

Ruskin pointed to the fact that the original charges against his client had triggered the order of protection in the first place had already been dropped, which the District Attorney's office confirmed.

He was arrested Tuesday and arraigned Thursday for burglary, attempted assault, menacing and harassment charges, court records show.

He was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court March 23, prosecutors said.
