Binge watchers and Bronx fans should start getting excited for the summer — and not just because it feels like 6 degrees outside.
“The Get Down,” director Baz Luhrmann’s eagerly anticipated Netflix show that focuses on a group of teenagers from the South Bronx in the 1970s, will debut its first six episodes on Aug. 12, giving viewers approximately seven months to build up their anticipation.
The entertainment company came out with a full length trailer for the show about two weeks ago filled with plenty of singing and dancing that will have to tide fans over for now.
Netflix has announced premiere dates for several of its other shows as well, including “The Get Down’s” fellow New York-based series “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” which will come out on April 15 and should feature at least one Pizza Rat joke.
