MIDTOWN — It’s official — Pearl Jam is not coming to Queens during the band's 2016 tour despite a fundraising campaign that netted more than $140,000 to lure the group to play the newly renovated Forest Hills Stadium.
Bu the grunge rock pioneers will instead play two dates at the more familiar Madison Square Garden on May 1 and 2, according to the band’s website
The Queens campaign has raised $143,332 since November 2014, but organizers told fans last fall it was “not a realistic endeavor” after Pearl Jam’s managers would not speak with them directly.
Some of the highlights of Pearl Jam's 21-date tour include the New Orleans Jazz Festival on April 23, Bonnaroo on June 9 and Fenway Park on Aug. 5 and 7.
Fans can check the band's website for additional information.
Tickets for the MSG show will go on sale Jan. 29 at noon and start at $85.
