MIDTOWN — A thief stole $1,632 worth of Essie nail polish from a Midtown Duane Reade, police said.
Surveillance footage at the convenience store at 22 W. 48th St. shows a man take 192 bottles of nail polish off the shelves in the store’s beauty aisle, put them in his backpack and flee the store around 4:48 p.m. on Jan. 7, according to police.
An employee working at the Duane Reade on Friday morning said the thief took everything but products like nail growth treatments.
“The whole Essie section was taken,” said the employee, who declined to give her name. “We’re restoring it slowly.”
