LOWER EAST SIDE — A neat-freak thief took care not to mess up a Delancey Street eatery while stealing $788 and two tablets worth $400 from the establishment last week, according to its owner.

Owner Duvaldi Marneweck, who runs Goa Taco at 79 Delancey St., said the thief got into the eatery some time after his emplpyee closed for the night at approximately 12:25 a.m. Jan 8 — and forgot to lock the door on his way out.

When Marneweck arrived the following day to open the eatery, which serves tacos made with Indian flatbread, the items and cash in the register were gone.

Marneweck said he was struck by how orderly the burglar left the restaurant, noting that the thief placed a picture he knocked off the wall onto a shelf.

“It was kind of weird. Everything was in place, it was really neat,” he said.

Marneweck said the police were reviewing security camera footage from the landlord. A description of the suspect was not immediately available.

Other crimes in the 7th Precinct include:

► A thief stole $6,000 in cash and a MacBook Pro worth $1,300 from Café Petisco, located at 189 East Broadway, in the early morning hours of Jan. 12, police said.

An employee discovered the break-in around 8 a.m., police said, when he found the lock on the security gate broken. The rear door was also broken into, according to the NYPD.

Café Petisco employees declined to comment, referring a reporter to the owners, who were not immediately available.

► A robber stole a man’s bank and EBT cards on Jan. 9 at 2:43 a.m. after approaching him in the lobby of the Seward Park Extension, claiming he had a weapon, police said.

The thief went through the man’s belongings, took his wallet and then pulled out the cards, according to the NYPD. Police said nothing else was taken and the man was uninjured.
