COBBLE HILL — A Cobble Hill fitness studio moved and expanded this week into the former location of an Italian restaurant that shuttered last year.

Henry Street Pilates is now located at 391 Henry St. at Warren Street, a space that's about three times the size of its previous studio on the same block, owner and instructor Jan Phillips said.

Bocca Lupo, the restaurant that once occupied the corner, closed in February 2015.

Phillips had been teaching Pilates and TRX suspension training at 385 Henry St. for seven years before moving into the new location Monday, she said.

Unlike larger fitness chains that offer group workouts, class sizes will be limited to nine students for Pilates sessions, Phillips said.

"I'm not interested in getting 35 people to workout and not helping their form," she said.

The new studio is divided into two rooms — a smaller room for private sessions and a larger space for group classes, with nine Pilates Tower units and two Reformers.

For TRX, which uses an adjustable canvas strap to build strength, flexibility and balance, sessions will be limited to six students.

A single class at Henry Street Pilates is priced at $32 in the new studio.

Phillips will also be offering a free session for clients' first Pilates Tower or TRX classes. The first private Reformer class costs $55.
