BROOKLYN — A fugitive wanted for raping a 10-year-old Brooklyn girl in October was arrested Monday in St. Paul, Minnesota, according to the NYPD.
Edwin Caizaguano, 24, assaulted his girlfriend’s daughter inside their Moffat Street home on Oct. 19, and injured her so badly that she needed to undergo surgery, police said.
Caizaguano then fled and was on the run for several months before the NYPD’s Fugitive Apprehension Team finally caught him.
He was still awaiting extradition from Minnesota back to New York Wednesday.
It was not immediately known how the team tracked him to the Midwestern city, an NYPD spokesman said.
