Man Stole Purse from Staten Island Gas Station Counter, Police Say

GREAT KILLS — A man swiped a purse left lying on the counter of a Staten Island gas station last month, police said.

On Dec. 19, a 51-year-old woman left her purse on the counter of the Bolla Market gas station, at 868 Arthur Kill Rd., at about 9:30 a.m., police said.

The man took the purse off the counter and left the store, police said.

It is not clear where the purse's owner was at the time.

The suspect was described as a about 60-year-old, 5-feet 8-inches tall man weighing 170 pounds with long, gray hair and a mustache, police said.
